It’s an unusual time for real estate because of the COVID-19 pandemic but business continues and there’s no reason why it shouldn’t. People need to buy and sell properties for lots of different reasons. That’s why we were listed as an essential service. However, we all have to chip in to help control the spread and real estate agents are no exception.
What can we do? Let’s help our clients. If you’re selling a property, set up virtual tours, video chats, take lots of pictures, make digital feature sheets, encourage digital signing. Basically, do everything you can to reduce the amount of time people need to spend inside the property.
For anyone viewing the property, limit the number of visitors to the property to two at a time. When people arrive, provide hand sanitizer or soap and ask them to wash their hands. Maybe offer disposable latex gloves for people to wear in the property. Keep doors open so no one has to touch the door handles. For darker rooms, leave the lights on so people don’t have to switch them on themselves. Don’t offer handouts; rather, take email addresses and send the information to buyers.
Did I miss anything? If I did, let me (and everyone else) know.
